National Child Health Day has been proclaimed by the President of the United States, under a Joint Resolution of Congress, each year since 1928 and occurs on the first Monday of October. The day recognizes the care and guidance children need to grow strong and healthy. We thank our Community Health Centers across the country for the many events they have hosted and participated in to support and celebrate Child Health Day. In honor of Child Health Day, HRSA is announcing the data release for MCHB’s National Survey of Children’s Health, highlighting their Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program, (MIECHV) and sharing important information about their Emergency Medical Services for Children Program.
The US Department of Health and Human Services recently announced almost $360 million in funding to states, territories and nonprofit organizations supporting maternal and child health through the MIECHV program. This funding includes approximately $16 million for the State Maternal Health Initiative Program whose goal is to improve maternal health outcomes. Click HERE to read the full release.
Regulators are no longer satisfied with documentation alone; they want evidence that your compliance program actively prevents, detects, and corrects risk. Investigators expect to see how issues are identified early, investigated thoroughly, corrected effectively, and monitored over time. Boards demand measurable insight, and leadership needs confidence that exposure is managed before it becomes a liability. The standard has shifted from activity to impact.
